TALLINN, 17 September 2011

During the Tallinn GA held on 16 – 17 September 2011, the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors has unanimously adopted the CLGE Measurement Code of Floor Areas in Buildings. This document should be used by the 50.000 members of CLGE and all interested parties.

It is a platform for future discussions with other bodies, especially the European Commission.

Now CLGE will create a new Task Force to build on these fundaments and work out solutions in the field of evaluation, volume and 3D measurements.

For more information please contact Michelle.Camilleri@clge.eu

Useless to say that the Executive Board is very happy with this result. It thanks all the participants for the very interesting and fruitful discussions.

FYR Macedonia becomes the 34th member of CLGE!

The FYRO Macedonian delegation

During the May General Assembly in Opatija (HR), the Chamber of Authorized Surveyors of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was unanimously appointed as a new Principal Member of CLGE.

This is very good news for our Council since we now have 34 countries on board. It of course is also a good evolution for the incoming member.

During a presentation of his Chamber, its President, Boris Tundzev, totally convinced the GA of his commitment to the European ideas and the high standards of their professional body.

On the picture you see the president (center) with the second delegate Saso Dimeski behind the national Flag and Prof. Dr. Zlatko Srbinoski.

In the name of the full GA of CLGE, I wish this new Principal Member a warm welcome, and all the best within our association. I am convinced that we will learn a lot from each other.

CLGE intends to build a dynamic knowledge base with relevant information about the profession of Geodetic Surveyors in all 34 CLGE member countries (for details on the project please see the enclosedproject description).

For the implementation of the project we are looking for a partner / service provider with enthusiasm for the project, some understanding about the profession and the necessary expertise:

- to define the final structure and details of the content in all categories of the database,

- to carry out a survey of already existing reference documents and to validate this information,

- to define a system to collect necessary information from CLGE member organisations,

- to prepare the content for a first online version of the database.

If this is a project that is interesting for you / your institution / your company we would be happy to receive your reply with

- a short description about your approach and ideas concerning the implementation of the project,

- your background and,

- a provisional estimation of costs (including a separate price for the prototype).

Please send your answers not later than 15 September 2011 (and possible questions whenever you want) to our Vice-President in charge:Rudolf.Kolbe@Clge.eu.
